Tranmere Rovers v Stockport County, Tuesday 1st November

Let's see a robust, hard fought match with the final score being a Stockport County win by 1 goal. If Tranmere Rovers win by more than 2 goals they go above us on goal difference, but of course we will have a game in hand. If Stockport County win by 2 goals they will then be level on points with Tranmere and above them on goal difference. Both teams would be on 24 points, 3 points behind 7th placed Carlisle United. We would have a game in hand on both of them.

So, overall the best result for us is a Stockport County win by 1 goal, thus preventing Tranmere Rovers joining us on 27 points and with that score both sides will have been 'at it' for the entire match. So Tranmere may have a little less to give in Saturday's FA Cup match at Brunton Park.

It is somewhat ominous for Tranmere Rovers that last Tuesday Stockport County pissed on us and on Saturday we pissed on Tranmere Rovers.

We also surely hope that Tranmere end up knackered as we’re playing them again on Saturday.

Hmmm .... on second thoughts Stockport County have won their last three League Two matches with the overall score being 7 - 0.
Of the two they could be the greater threat in League Two terms going forward. For Carlisle United's League Two and immediate FA Cup
prospects let's hope for this Tranmere Rovers v Stockport County match to be a hard fought draw.

I want it to be a right set-to with each side getting 2 players sent off and 4 more booked. The result has to be a draw with each side using an ineligible player and getting a point deducted.

Result Tranmere Rovers 0 - 0 Stockport County

That's good, a draw, making the total points value of the game 2, rather than 3 between teams that are beginning to do well and could be challenging in the near future. The game as a contest lasted the full duration of play, so Tranmere Rovers will perhaps have a little less to give on Saturday against us in the FA Cup in a match with a prize of £41,000 to the winning club.

That was the best possible result for us from 2 teams in good form and gagging to approach the Play-Off zone. Presumably it was well fought for the entire duration of play, meaning that Tranmere will be slightly less effective against us in the FA Cup on Saturday.
