    Bartley

Well, I’ve been a serious critic of his overall performances, but very happy to give credit when due.
Undoubtedly a great header which was clearly evident today.
I’m hoping this season’s dire performances and removal from the squad has been an ‘awakener’ to him. Concentrate on the basic defensive stuff, improve positional sense and stop the constant pointing, directing and apportioning blame.
If he can play as if he’s had to earn his selection, alongside the rest of the team, then maybe a non complacent rebirth ?
Good luck and keep it up Barts

Totally agree Prando. His performances this season have been dire but he stepped up to the plate today. I do worry a bit though when Corberan says that he is one of the best defenders in the league. I respectfully suggest that he studies the videos of his previous games this season before making such sweeping statements!

I believe he said his mission is to make him one of the best defenders in the division.
Corberan demands fitness, commitment and desire, three things this team has been lacking in for years.
There will be no sacred cows under this regime.

I think Bartley is a bit of a confidence player, our old manager left him out at the start of the season and didn’t really have any faith in him. Our last manager was clueless and let’s be fair the team weren’t coached or managed correctly.

This manager is talking about him being one of the best centre halves in the league. I know who would give me more confidence.

Also I do think he’s our best defender currently, with Ajayi out injured. He gets a lot of stick, but I think he’s a solid championship defender.

He’s been slated he’s been praised. Such is the world of the football forum. This is half the problem with the squad. With every new manager you’re either in or out. They don’t know if they are coming or going.

O'Shea and Ajeyi make as many if not more mistakes than Bartley. But seem to escape any criticism, it will be interesting to see who corberan prefers as his partnership when they are all available.

    O’Shea doesn’t escape my criticism Salt......I think he’s a very poor player.

No pace, too short and poor positional sense.

For me he has the major trait of every poor defender, he’s always on the stretch, he makes everything look like hard work.

It's not just Bartley but the whole squad who need the stability and confidence that a good manager will bring. Let's hope that this is what Colderan will bring to our club. Even if he makes a success on the field, we still have the ownership problem to be surmounted but onfield success would help the situation enormously.

All three make mistakes and all three have come in for criticism, most justified, some not. To suggest it's only Bartley who comes in for stick is well wide of the mark. In fact if I were feeling uncharitable I'd suggest it's utter b@ll@cks 😊 .

The simple fact is Bartley, Livermore and Johnstone when he was here, no matter how they played come in for more criticism than any other players no matter what happened, although I'm sure you will provide evidence to the contrary😊.
