    Denmark and FIFA

Reading that Denmark are considering leaving FIFA and are preparing to talk about this with other European nations. Too late for this WC I feel but FIFA certainly needs overhauling. If nations such as England, Germany, Spain and France could be persuaded alongside other European and Nordic countries then their withdrawal would have a severe impact. Obviously the somewhat unexpected solidarity of most of Europe to Putin"s invasion of Ukraine may be a factor in current thinking too. If only these countries realised the combined clout they have, if only they would choose to use it. Will they put their money where their mouths are though?

I've been advocating this for some time now. FIFA is just not fit for purpose. I wouldn't restrict it to European countries either. World Football needs a new governing body, and quickly.

Totally agree that it is a global issue but have a feeling that it might be more likely that European nations take the initiative first before the likes of Brazil or Argentina, for example, follow.

Could the issues being far more publicly raised at this WC become the straws that finally broke FIFA? Be nice to think so.

FIFA is definitely a sewer of corruption and I have absolutely no confidence in that organization . It should be either shut down or drastically reformed. The problem is: would what replaces it be any better?
