Is fan violence on the up?

Interesting article from Grist's favourite media outlet the BBC including comments from/about 3 of our local rivals.

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/64259799

What do you think? As I mentioned on here we certainly saw a great deal of unpleasantness at the Stoke game on Boxing Day from both sets of fans.

Certainly not a phrase you'd expect from you run of the mill football supporter. Does it mean it only happens in February?

Interesting though that they attribute some of it to today's 'hooligans' yearning for the 'good old days'? Maybe that's why there are so many who are aged 45+ involved?

Im not sure it is, it’s just been brought up more, Port Vale (mentioned) have always been trouble
Also we’re only seeing more bans because of the new law on flares/smoke bombs.

Fan's violence up, climate change, strikes and cost of living crisis.......only in the media's eyes. They'd have nothing else to moan about......

Interesting yesterday when they were interviewing nurses/paramedic's, they all mentioned that they couldn't care for patients safely, but no one mentioned how more money would make it better. On BBC2 radio, one said that they get better pay in Aldi's........well go there then.
Why do people pick a career and then moan about it?
