Everton Directors advised to stay away

Are things spiralling dangerously out of control at Goodison? Last season there were some unsavoury incidents on and off the pitch. The Board have been advised to stay away from today’s home game against Southampton “on safety grounds”. You fear what will happen if they lose against the Saints this afternoon.

I know it's not Liverpool but as Shankly said
“At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques”
So their attendance is superfluous anyway.
