Agree he looks more of an attacker than a trad number that said Thierry Henry started out wide and look what he eventually turned into.

Looks a very promising player my only worry and I hate being that person but..... isn't he just yet another wide player in a team that plays narrow and is pretty loaded in that area? Or am I missing something and he is a more central player?
Like I said, looks very good but not sure if that was 35m best spent considering where we are evidently weak i.e. LB and CM

We have neither the time nor the squad to allow for someone like Rutter (who may be outstanding as a wide player as suggested) to morph into a player who can act as a real No.9, which is what we have needed for at least a season and half now since Bamford started to show his fragility.
That having been said, if by some miracle Bamford can stay fit (and I for one really and truly hope such a thing can happen), he (Rutter) might have time to show what he is worth (£35m? hmmmm). If that miracle doesn't happen, we will have spent £35m on not much more than a hopeful experiment.
Excuse my ignorance but I just presumed he would be that quality striker we have been searching for the last 4 yrs
Silly old Rev
All the same hope the lad smashes it![]()
I missed the Risdale era. However, I have a feeling I'm going to get to experience it part 2. From what I understand our coaching was better then than this jack off that's coaching us now.
Saw we are selling Crisswell. Doesn't fit Ted's plans. He'll end up a starting back in the prem within a year or two and someone will make some big money off his sale. we've decided to give a big buck contract to llorente. Strujik looks a little damaged from his playing LB all season. We have no striker but decide to spend a club record transfer on someone that isn't a striker but plan on playing him there. We have a striker that's really a false 9 and the other one has played 5 games in 2 years.
If we get relegated we'll lose this entire squad at pennies on the dollar and we'll have sold off or turned off some of our best youth.
We are betting the house on a coach ted led team. what could go wrong? Maybe we can convert ER to windmill and solar power and we'll all the bases covered.
Didn't so much miss Ridsdale, more kind of switched off from all the sh1t that was happening, not so easy to do that now, so much is written, shown, discussed it's just not possible to ignore "stuff".
Having said that, and I know we disagree regarding Bamford, but everything else is spot on. Strange that if you read the posts on this, the "transfers" thread and many of the match day threads, I find it hard to disagree, although none are particularly positive (apart from Gnonto, who is a real find (and will probably be sold in the summer!).
I know we all wanted players but with the money spent and wages IF we go down, we are fked for another 16 years.
Unless we get another team like Bumley to implode on the last day.
It's early but I think Gnonto might be the best 1 on 1 player I've ever seen in a Leeds kit. He's the only player I can recall that when he's being defended I think can just go around the defender at will. He's a freak on the confidence and ability. Passing is off a bit at times but when you can go around anyone you want it's a game changer. it normally takes help defense of 1 or 2 more to stop him and even then it's not a automatic he's going to get stopped.
It is uber ironic that he was our third choice and much better than the first 2 choices. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
I do really believe that if we had a good coach this could be a top 10 squad. so much potential and it's young. we also have some depth for the first time.
