    Why we lost tonight

Winning 1-0 away at Burnley after 70 minutes and bringing on Rogic for Swift. It swung the game against us. I was actually screaming at the tv at the time for TGH to come on for Diangana.

Dike had run out of steam after about an hour. So from the time of that sub, we had Grady, Rogic and Dike who offered us nothing as an attacking force really.

I do feel for the other 8 players because they gave it everything. We missed BTA and his running.

CC has been a breath of fresh air since he came to the club, but I think he got his changes wrong tonight. Also think he learned a bit more about his team. Squad depth is also concerning, because a couple of injuries and those coming in to replace them aren’t good enough, as tonight proved.

Thought Swift was immense first half - maybe ran out of steam second as he played on Tuesday. But Rogic was well off the pace - just too slow for a full bloodied game like this. Was surprised Celtic let him go - but can see why now. Philips and Asante were big misses too.

For me reason we lost was weak bench. Mind Burnley are the best side in the Champ and both their goals were quality. Not sure our second goal in first half should have been disallowed - Okay didn’t do much wrong.

Was it a free kick, 2-1!? Thought Burnley player stumbled, kicked the ground and made a meal of it!?

At the match 123 and certainly on the same page as you regarding football. To bring on Rogic was madness as Swift was playing well and young legs like TGH would have been better.

The defence kept hammering the ball but Dike and Diangana couldn’t keep possession and offered nothing. Dike is good with his head but beginning to think he’s a slow lazy lump who does the bare minimum to help his team mates. Diangana should join the girl guides with his socks pulled up.

Burnley though are a class side. One touch on the ball - quick - slick passing and for me way above than anyone else in the championship,

Almost 2000 West Brom supporters there last night and incredible backing for a Friday night!

Play offs only option but glad to welcome back Asante - quick - one touch and similar to many Burnley players. For me Asante has a bigger future than Dike.

Play for reserves and youngsters next week FFS. If OK gets injured we are screwed!!!!

Don’t get me wrong under Carlos we have been a revelation, but last night showed why if we go up we will need a whole host of new players, whether we’ll get the funds or not is another story.

Absolutely, I don't know how they reached the conclusion on tv? I couldn't see any contact accept the Burnley player stubbing his boot in the grass.

Here's my conclusion. The first half we showed Burnley how to play. They looked nervous at the back. Second half we sat back but mainly because of some of the comments here. Swift was knackered but was replaced with someone slower. Diangana should have been replaced in the first half, in fact I would sell him on, he's had long enough to impress and apart from the odd cameo gives us nothing but a weak link. Reach as has been said doesn't give us the intensity we need. Molumby was exceptional again, that bloke tackles really fiercely and has an engine to push any team forward. Coupled with Yokuslu who was outstanding again they make a solid pairing for us.
I can't criticise Corberan really, I'm really proud that he's our manager. Its good enough for me that Kompany said that we were the best team they've faced in this league. I can see us winning the play off's especially as Corberan said he has unfinished business after losing in the final with the terriers. If anyone will get it right he will.

    Good summary boingy.
Will have learned much from last night's defeat.
Lets keep the play offs as a minimum for the season going forward now.

Good post and agree Boingy with all of this especially Diangana!

I thought the same about the subs but Burnley were the better team and had a better squad. That Zaroury out wide is a star in the making and Tella was streets ahead of Diangana.

Burnley are levels above any other team in the playoff spots and well coached.

To echo the thoughts of others, we need to spend very well if we get up.
