    WBA game

The main things I want to say about the WBA game is the ref was completely out of his depth, too much strolling and too much allowing blatant time wasting, which brings me to my main thought and that is how well did the whole team play in the second half brilliant and I for one is delighted for Scott Twine his free kick was outstanding. I also think that Josh Cullen should be given a big pick out he never gave the ball away we were awesome.

It's a feelgood feeling isn't it Lanky.Although we were one down at time I never had that feeling we were going to lose the game and lo and behold we came out in the second half and mullered them into submission..
Can't ever remember feeling that way about a Burnley team before..Long may it last.Times are good, let's just enjoy the ride.
We are in good "Kompany" 😆

Totally agree, especially about the ref, you see a lot coming through in non-league like him, do the warm up routines as per, strut onto the pitch, immaculately turned out, not a hair out of place, but when the game starts you get the distinct impression, though they may have the laws and directives off by heart, they've never played a game of football in their lives, they're like robots.

I agree with all of the above, i was watching it on Sky and in the second half it became one way traffic and like others i just felt we weren't going to lose it. the ref did nothing for us apart from that final freekick which was a repeat of Twine's earlier efforts courtesy of that video link UG provided.

You mentioned on a different post you thought Benson was poor sinkov.

I have not as yet watched the SKY recording but within about two minutes of him entering the field of play from the bench he was hacked down.

Mr Myopia either failed to see it or he does not know the rules of the game.

Benson was clearly hurt and had to exit because of the injury sustained = no free kick or card issued.

Tella was clipped from behind = no penalty. Brownhill was clattered from behind - no penalty.

Taylor was pushed in the back for the Baggies opener = GOAL.

    Clueless hardly covered it.

I don't think it was a foul on Cullen which led to our winner, he appeared to me to kick the turf and fall over = GOAL!

If VAR had been operating we would have won that game 4-0, that's how much better Burnley were.

If that clown is an elite referee you are a Socialist mon ami.

I agree about the ref, he was getting it wrong all over the park, but not on the Benson tackle, it was a perfectly fair and good tackle, Townsend went for the ball and got it, Benson then went over his legs, there was no foul. We then got the ball and proceeded to string together about a dozen passes while Benson lay in a heap, any of our players could have put the ball out had they any concerns about their mate, but they chose to play on. Not the ref's fault, he did right letting the game proceed.

In live action mon ami, Bellamy and VK were going bonkers and I thought the home crowd might just kill the hapless git.

No doubt from behind it would have looked bad, but you can see the slomo replay at 73.15 on Sky. It was a cracking tackle, absolutely nothing wrong with it, back in the day you'd have been proud of it mon ami. Firm but fair.

Benny looked hurt, the crowd were not happy - I can tell you that.

His team mates didn't seemed too concerned, 8 of them had the chance to put the ball out of play while he lay in a heap, but they kept on passing it around. Maybe they know he's a bit of a diva ?
