    European Super League - new proposal ?

    European Super League 'new proposal' would be an "open" competition - say organisers, now.

    Obviously not gonna go away & certainly PL top 6 £££££ are sniffing again, no doubt.

    There is always room for change, let them play but make them commit to their league games if that part continues

    As long as they can't play in the PL as well, let em go. Might be the only thing that keeps us up! 🤔

    The statement from A22 contains just such a commitment, but with no details as to how this would be achieved. I think the statements from Tebas (La Liga) and Miles (Football Supporters Association) hit the nail on the head regarding the impact ANY ESL-type arrangement would have on football generally, and the lower leagues in particular.

    No thankyou, move along.

    Thin end of the wedge - certain clubs have been looking to do this for years - mainly the ones with a slightly self entitled outlook.

    If there is enough money dangled then one day it may happen not least with the change in ownership of many top clubs where there may be less domestic league loyalty.

    Two dodgy areas contradict in the proposals for me;
    https://a22sports.com/wp-content/upl...ALL-LEAGUE.pdf
    "Participating clubs should remain fully committed to domestic tournaments as they are today."

    "The health of players must be a key component in determining the number of matches each year."

    What about the physical/mental health effects on players subjected to even more games per season, let alone international matches ?

    Yes, Defo carrot dangling with;
    €400 million a year to grassroots football minimum guarantee.
    Football stakeholders should promote and develop the women’s game - 'should' ?

    Finally for me, they mention Financial sustainability & also fan experience. How can fans afford to pay for more games, travel costs & escalating ticket prices no doubt.

    It'll become an advert strewn Tv show watched by paying millions with actual games watched by soulless neutral supporters in space age, technology loaded arenas, IMO, so a NO from me.

    Think that is pathetic if they indulge themselves in the riches of this new comp...if it happens....and still be allowed to stifle other clubs chances of getting into the PL. Should have to make a choice! 😠
