Bugger, we were depending on Wout to pay our debt off.![]()
Yes, I did notice that mon ami, that was quite a tidy sum splashed out in January for a cash strapped club. Has Mr Pace won the Lottery and not told anyone, or is he betting the ranch, so to speak, as Barry would have said ?
When I put my empathic Machiavellian head on sinkov, my thought process goes something like this.
1. EPL club with good support base and room for consumer growth.
2. Super duper globally renowned manager.
3. Big squad and lots of young player potential.
4. Backed by a heavy global financial hitter.
5. ALK Sports connectivity.
6. About $75 million debt hole.
7. Worth $250 million.
SELL! SELL! SELL!
I think that scenario is on the horizon.![]()
But who's the buyer, I just can't see the potential for growth with a small town club in a tiny stadium. Let's face it, after 4 years as a financially sound PL club, the only offer Garlick got was a leveraged buy-out from someone who had just been knocked back by Sheffield United. What's different now, we might have a bright young manager, but he won't be here long, then what ?
I watched him in one game, he did a lot of running but no-one seemed to pass to him. Perhaps the other players don't like him, he is full of himself.
The Blades are a joke of a club an African coconut flogger (or something) is in the process of due diligence at present.
ALK are well connected they will find a bored oil prince somewhere who fancies a bit of the spotlight.

Why did we not go for the bored oil prince in the first place, cut out the intermediary who has loaded us up with debt ? Maybe because the bored oil prince, interested in buying Burnley FC, doesn't exist ?
