Grimsby Town - Harry Haddock Banned - FA Cup 5th Round at Southampton Fc

Grimsby Town play Southampton Fc away in the Emirates FA Cup 5th Round,
    on the 1st March 2023.
Grimsby Town football club have been told by premier league club Southampton,
that they will not allow Grimsby Town fans into the ground with their inflatable
Harry the Haddock mascots, if any of the inflatable mascots make it into St Marys
stadium on match day, they will be confiscated.
Fans of Grimsby Town , nicknamed the Mariners are often seen with the inflatable
    fish mascots at grounds.

What a load of Codswallop by the premier league club !

They have dropped a major one there.
There will be more inflatables than ever.
They said no haddocks, what about balloons, beach balls etc. 😋

Southampton Fc - Have performed a U-turn on their " Harry the Haddock " inflatable ban
for the FA Cup fifth round game against Grimsby Town, & now will allow Grimsby Town
fans to bring their mascots to St Marys Stadium.
Turns out a request originally made to the premier league, to allow the mascots was
initially turned down as it contravenes ground regulations.
The rule had followed concerns that large inflatable objects could irritate & restrict the
view of other fans but, after a backlash from fans of Grimsby Town & Southampton Fc,
the club have softened their stance & concluded that there is no safety issue.
Grimsby Town fans had accused Southampton Fc of being " boring " & " joyless " at a
time they should be rather more concerned with their own on-field crisis.

So common sense prevails, Harry the Haddock swimming downstream to Southampton.

I think some don’t have a sense of humour and to certain people (probably snobs) it’s tacky and down to boozy idiots
They could be right who knows.

When are we getting inflatables out?
