Can't remember who it was now, might have been my missus, or maybe not, but back in the day when Lou was at the peak of his fame, someone who didn't follow football saw his name in a newspaper headline, and was surprised. They thought his first name was Luma and he was called Luma Cary, until they saw it in print.
