    Get it into perspective

I'll admit Liverpool played well, but so did we with 9 outfielders after Pope's error, he should have known better and could have played the ball with his feet.

Apart from the repercussion of his red, the sending off made no difference as Dubs kept a clean sheet as the goals were lost when we had a full team on the field.

This was only one match out of the season and which team in the league doesn't have a bad one such as this.

I'm sure it was also a learning curve for E.H. and staff and although we dropped 3 points some good may come out of it as stated in other posts about the match on other threads obvious points were made.

Don't despair lads and lasses because of this loss. We will make up for it and some good will come out of it.

This results being coming for a month now, shouldn’t be surprised. Imo we were never gonna hang onto 3rd, the lack of quality in the squad would eventually catch up with us and I expect us to finish5 th or 6 th. Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, spurs, us, is how it could finish.

i couldn't get out of work commitments so had to watch the game in a hotel room and i was blind drunk,
so i have watched it back this morning,
that was the best performance we have had for many weeks, forget the red card and the sloppy goals conceded,
we were good on the attack and could have scored 4 or 5 goals on another day.

Miggy had a great chance, so did Maxi, we hit the bar, we had another couple of clear cut chances that we should have scored.

Maxi put a shift in too at last. We played with 10 men like that

Im not bothered about Man utd, i think we will beat them. I think the burden of the cup final has got to some of the lads in one way or another, im sure our form will pick up again after next weekend

But to beat them we have to put the ball in the net and there lies the problem imo

This, and the shortage of back up in the squad, which we are all aware of, has caused the number of drawn games where we have had a huge proportion of the play and deserved a win.

The above is perhaps not true because, as Tino ponts out above, if you can't get the ball into the net then you don't win games.

Oh for another Shearer, Cole, or Ferdinand.
