Best Burnley Squad In Your Life Time

This is the best Burnley squad in my lifetime. Hands down. Is it the best in yours? If not which team, when you have been around to watch them, was better?

You'd expect the best Burnley squad to be the one playing in the highest tier of footie which would mean a squad from our Prem league tenure or the old first division when we were one of the dominant players. Mine would be the team that started Blacklaw, Angus, Elder etc. in 1962 which included jimmy mc and John Connelly

Well I saw the premier league squad and this squad man for man is better imo. As for the jimmy mc team, I never saw that. Would you say that's the best you have seen KC?

My best of Burnley can Never be bettered....was the full experience, together with close family, and virginal compared to todays "game".

It was worth remembering coming through the conveyor belt simultaneously to being one of the best club teams in Europe in 1962 were the likes of Thomson, Morgan, Joyce, Towers, O'Neil, Coates, Thomas, Latcham, Bellamy, Merrington, Irvine & Lochhead.

Nothing compares to this lot and that lot!

I was only 9 then, going to matches with my dad so it was more an experience thing rather than appreciating the skillset but that's the team I grew up with until my ****s when Norder's team with Dobbo and Taffy took over. They were a great side too but not as good as the 60's side IMHO.

Any pick from Newton, Casper, James, Dobson, Fletcher & Noble would be welcome right now though k_c.

The best team I've seen was the 59/60 one that won the League, the Fairs Cup team with Irvine and Lochead up front wasn't far behind, but there wasn't a squad as such back then, there was a first team which was usually fairly settled, and replacements were plucked out of the reserve team, as and when required.

Me and my grandad both had season tickets (courtesy of grandma) in the early 60's and when the first team were away we used to go and watch the reserve team which quite literally swept all before them.

I honestly thought those days would never end.

The Orient game brought it all into a new and much different perspective, but we are where we are now. In VK we trust!
