Thought Texas Specials were Fender rather than Lindy but not really my world. Both will be as good as it gets.
I've no idea what the right answer would be but it sounds like one of those "if it aint broke don't fix it" situations...Probably stay with what you've got at least until you're not liking it any more.
As an acoustic player I barely have a toe in the water when it comes to amplification quality. My new guitar has something called an onboard Fishman Thinline pickup which I know sits under the saddle and I really like it because a) it works really well and b) I can't see it.

Gus had built my previous guitar to my spec about 12 years ago (It's the OM - 12 Fret Cocobolo/Engelman Spruce further up the page) which was beautiful. Sadly he dropped it when I took it back for refurbishment and it was completely ruined. He gave me various options one of which was the one I now have.
