OT Masters Golf

Starts this Thursday. I know a few on here like their Golf and will be watching things unfold. Who do you fancy to don the Green Jacket this year?


It's hard to see past Scheffler based on current form and him being the defending champion. However, winning this tournament back to back is different gravy. As we know, very few players have achieved that feat in the entire history of this tournament.


I'm going for Viktor Hovland although he's unlikely to win @35/1, I feel he's a decent each way bet @7/1 for the top 8 places. He's a top emerging talent in the game imo.

Cameron Smith has done well over the last 2 Masters tournaments and seems to like Augusta. Might be worth an each way punt.

I know Roma liked his golf God bless his soul. The year he tipped the Tiger double- Tiger Roll for the grand national and Tiger Woods to win at Augusta. It came in as well unbelievably. Al sure miss his input this year.

Might back Rory on the basis he's due for this tournament to come to him .

Disappointing final round for Hovland but he came up trumps e/way.


I was suspect about Rahm and his Latin temperament as I've been backing him over the last few years. Decided not to this year despite his good form. However, he's shown so much composure and maturity to win this very comfortably. When tha thinks back to Thursday when he started the 1st hole with a 4 putt double bogey but hasn't looked back after that. He's been consistent and played some great stuff. A deserved champion. A Spanish winner on what would've been the great Seve Ballesteros 66th birthday is fitting

Not a vintage tournament to store in the memory bank.

The flow of the tournament was wrecked by the weather and a routinely efficient performance by Rahm was all that was needed. Little jeopardy regarding the result in the final nine holes.

The Sky commentators were doing their best to convince the viewers this was another Masters classic Sunday afternoon with five or six potential winners as the evening developed .

It was never that and could have been Any Given Sunday anywhere on the US tour .

Congratulations to Rahm none the less with a no nonsense victory .

One Masters that will be quickly forgotten .

A thought the rain added to it. Seeing the Augusta greens with the ball running like that is a rare thing and quite bizarre compared to the hotter conditions where the greens are like ice rinks. It's also a test of the golfers and who can cope with the conditions the best. Rahm managed it very well to be fair, better than the vast majority of the field anyhow so credit to him.

I do wish SKY would get rid of Paul Mcginley. He just rattles and rattles on constantly repeating himself. Faldo I like. OK, he's not what you'd call media trained in a way of delivering his points in a more articulated way but the blowk has been there, done it and worn the t-shirt or Green Jacket in his case Laura Davies was decent too and Butch Harmon is class as always.

The trees falling on Friday was absolutely crazy. How nobody was injured or killed in that freak incident we thank God.

The great performance by the young Ameuteur was memorable, to finish on -2 after 4 rounds with so much change in the conditions was a remarkable effort. Fred Couples becoming the oldest player to make the cut at 62 years old I found inspiring.

Not a bad tournament at all imo. OK the final holes were an anti climax but that's the way Golf can go no matter what tournament. I enjoyed the entire spectacle. It offered up more intrigue than if the conditions were normal and sunny in my opinion.

I found Laura Davies and Nick Faldo's stint together pretty amusing .

No disrespect to Laura who was a fine golfer and knowledgeable about the game but none the less Nick Faldo knows every tree , every green and the colour of the paint inside the locker rooms at Augusta .

He won the bugga three times and has played more rounds there than unfortunately Laura will ever see .

It's probably best Laura not to pre empty what's about to happen .

The bloke at the side of you played the shot , many times .
