I don't remember that Belgian geezer walking about the pitch before kick off.

Was it something official or a one man pitch invasion? Don’t remember much at all about the semi.

    I remember it.

Pretty official, club mascot sort of thing.
It was the same with Mechelen.

I remember being in a cu nt of a mood that night, and never really enjoying the game.

I had a sense of how close we were to something massive and how it would count for farkall if we lost this tie.

At 4-0 I was OK but they got one back....about 15 to go I think? And I'm thinking ....if they get another then 2-0 over there and we're done on away goals.....then we made it 5-1 .....and folk started leaving early!

    This p1ssed me off again.

Weird old night, we win the first leg of a European semi 5-1 and the majority of the night I was in a rotten humour.

In a bad mood when you were 19, as the Dons kicked the seven shades out of anything brave enough to put themselves in front of us?

Were you nae getting your Adrian Mole or something?

How good was Dougie Bell that night?

My mate always maintains it was the best individual performance he has seen by a Don's player, which is a big statement.

Yep - Bell was absolutely unplayable that night. As good an individual performance as I’ve ever seen.

11 year old me there with the old man in the main stand.

Pre match nerves quickly settled as we absolutely blew them away with the early goals.

Some night, some performance, some team.

I’m glad I’m old enough to have experienced it all live…

    I'm nae sure.
I mean......no, my ****age 'nads were like spacehoppers, the default state in those times.

I was just really fretful before that game.....if we messed up the magic of Bayern would have counted for fu ck all.
Even during the game, like I said, when they got one back to 4-1.....totally frazzled.

The day of that game, psychiatrists could've written papers on me.
