    Our new striker?

    Joelinton.

Looking at our goals 2 and 5, they were very well finished. Again a complete transformation from when he was playing under Bruce - he got nowhere near goal scoring positions, never mind scoring.

Is he now an option for striker?

Personally no. If he is put back upfront, a few misses and his head will drop again. He is a far better player in midfield, is attacking from there is improved also the team benefits from his defensive qualities in midfield.

I would feel more comfortable putting him in defence now.

Prefer him playing deeper as a midfield fixer, getting forward and scoring is a bonus.

The lad is such a monster, his physicality has added a dimension to our game that the benefit of playing him further forward doesn't add the level of value we require. He's a destroyer in midfield.

If he can add 10-15 goals from midfield to his game happy days!

In all honesty, I don't think so. I get the impression that the pressure and responsibility of being the main striker weighs too heavily on his shoulders. There's a lot less expectation when he's breaking from midfield which is why he took those chances, imo.

    Agreed.

I think if we were desperate he'd do it but I don't think that is his place any more.

The pressure of being the main man and having to do it would break him I think.
