    A Day With the Stones

Been over this side of the pond to visit my brother in Harrow-Weald, catch up with friends, etc. 6 of us travelled up to Nottingham to catch Notts bs Stones. Normally on my trip to Notts I’d, of course, be sitting with the home fans. But given that my mates are Stones fans (well, Arsenal fans really) and with their London accents, it would turn out to be a day among the stones.

What a beautiful day! The sun was shining on us in the away end, and Notts goals abounded. By all accounts we should have scored more, and I had to contain myself a bit, but all in all an outstanding time. While it was clear Notts were the far better team, the Stones keeper and defence stopped it from getting out of hand.

Full credit to the Stones fans. They never stopped singing for more than a minute throughout the entire game. “There’s only one Jason Turner”… not only during the minute’s applause, but they gave you a second round of it on Notts 3rd goal. Great variety of tunes too!

And then on to the city for a night of debauchery and the lightening of our wallets.

A great time out! See you again in a few years, Notts!
