    Barnsley-v-Sheffield Wednesday Play Off Final

If both Plymouth and Ipswich go up automatically and Wednesday plus Barnsley finish in the Play Offs it is looking increasingly likely that Wednesday or Barnsley will finish 3rd or 4th. This means they will not meet in the Play Off Semi Finals 3rd-v-6th and 4th-v-5th and the scenario of a Barnsley-v-Wednesday Final at Wembley becomes a possibility.

The emotions raised by this fixture before, during and after the game would be off the scale.

Many an arse would totally consume itself. Imagine the pleasure for years of the bragging rights or the suffering for years if defeated.

Would divide opinion I reckon SB , I actually hate the game and have done for many years due to the fact no matter how well we played we nearly always lost .

I take the point this season has turned in our favour by doing the double over them but I can't help thinking let's not push our luck .

If we are to meet then I hope it's the semi final rather than the final in a best of two evils way although I rather not play them at all .

Be a hum dinger wouldn't it. Train journey down there would be interesting not to mention the journey back.

It's difficult to contemplate losing to em isn't it. However, they've had years of luck against us and it's our turn now. We comprehensively beat them at Hillsborough. The return meeting at Oakwell was far more closely contested but the fact is we came out on top 6-2 on aggregate. Their fans would dread laiking us in my opinion.

Ennyrooard, there's still plenty to do for both teams before it could come to be.

    I'll make a prediction

    Play offs semis will be-

    Sheffield wednesday (3rd)v Posh (6th)

    Barnsley (4th) v Bolton(5th)

    Final
    Barnsley v Peterborough

and we lift the trophy 🏆

    Yes I’m expecting that.

As for the majority of the time losing against Wednesday - that’s because they have nearly always paid much bigger wages - consequently they nearly always have had that bit more talent in the team - which results in people from the Barnsley District deserting Barnsley Football Club and going to Hillsborough.

I'm still hoping for 6 wins which would have to include beating Ipswich and a draw and finishing second .

    Yes I know .

Perhaps a Barnsley-v-Ipswich final which would rake up bad memories.

If only Barnard had scored the penalty---

If only Hristov had scored the header to make it 3-3----

One game from a return to the Premiership. In administration two years later.

Pivotal game to beat all pivotal games.

This is the thing about play off defeats with our club .

We don't win them it hasn't worked out well afterwards .

Last season is another example .

It might be worth us limping over the line & finishing 5th or 6th , over 2 legs I think we would have Wednesdays number , they are an ageing work force & I think we have the indian sign over them this season but it might take us two legs , then I am not bothered who we meet in the final , its a fifty fifty shot & what will be will be .
