    Why do Scottish refs

    Spend a minute or two lecturing players.

    It's either a card or it's not.

    Sometimes I think they want the game slowed up for their own fitness levels.

    What can a ref possibly say except "next one your in the book"......6 words shouldn't take 45 to 90 secs.

    And whilst I remember dick Campbell runs 5 yards onto the pitch the other week to get Ashcroft booked for a nothing tackle.....seems to be Arbroaths speciality

    I think that these Scottish referees like to act like little Hitlers.

    In other countries the referees are competent, in England for example a Premiership referee only has to say 'one more and you're booked' and the player respects him enough to take that as a warning. Up here they're numpties who need to deliver long lectures to players who know they're numpties or the players will just rubber them.
