Cash turnstiles for Cove Rangers fans at tonight’s game

I enclose details from the Cove Rangers website which states that there are cash turnstiles at tonight’s game for their supporters.
It also stated that the Cove Rangers directors are paying for the cost of supporters buses travelling to tonight’s with Paul Hartley and his coaching staff chipping in to help foot the bill. https://coverangersfc.com/2023/04/25...tion-dundee-a/
Perhaps Dundee Football Club directors including John Nelms will make a similar gesture and offer to contribute towards the cost of the Dundee supporters buses travelling to next Friday’s game against Queens Park at Ochilview.

Another dig at the club! Do you ever have anything positive to say? I'm waiting for the blue moon and flying pigs on the day you agree with something the club does. It's boring. I honestly cannot understand why you bother to continue to make out you are a Dundee fan. Why don't you find something or a team that you actually enjoy and take all your 'positivity' there. Your continued vendetta against the club is just simply weird.

Lots of Dundee supporters want a fair deal with cash turnstiles in Dens Park for both sets of supporters.
You are possibly not aware that in September 2022 Dee4life offered to pay for the full cost of installing an E ticketing system in Dens Park which was turned by the Dundee Football Club management.
    Goodness knows why.
I can only assume that it is because John Nelms does not like Dee4life and everything that it stands for.

Last night I went up and swapped my main stand ticket, for a Shankly one. It literally added 5 minutes to my night. Whilst I agree that there should be PATG If possible it’s not as big a deal as you make out. You’re like a broken record, posting the same negative comments, again and again.

I will keep complaining about cash turnstiles for Away fans but not for Dundee supporters until Greg Fenton and his boss John Nelms get them reinstated in the Main Stand and occasionally in the Bobby Cox Stand which happened pre Covid.
My maternal grandfather used to say “If you hit someone enough times with a hammer then eventually it would sink in’. My grandfather died in 1959 when people said what thought rather than what happens nowadays with the PC merchants.
I raised the matter at a Dee4life board of directors meeting at the start of this season but some of my fellow Dee4life directors did not see that it was a problem as they were season ticket holders and they could not see the ‘big picture’.
However at the Dee4life board of directors meeting in December 2022 the secretary admitted that he now understood the problem as he had to purchase a ticket for the Scottish Cup tie against Airdrie at Dens Park on Saturday 26th November 2022 because season tickets are only valid for League games. He arrived at the Ticket Office ten minutes before the start of the game expecting to walk in and purchase his ticket but there was a long queue of Dundee supporters standing outside the Ticket office also waiting to purchase their ticket for the game.
If there had been cash turnstiles in all parts of Dens Park this problem would not have arisen and the attendance would have probably been higher into the bargain.
All ticket matches used to take place because a game was likely to be a sellout which has never happened this season.
The only home games which require to be ‘all ticket’ are home games against Rangers, Celtic and Dundee United to stop supporters of these clubs purchasing tickets for seats in the Dundee supporters sections of Dens Park.
Based on last night’s performance we will not be playing home games against these clubs next season in the Premier League.

Islay I'm with you and don't see why there can't be cash turnstiles for home fans. I know why they don't want them but don't see the argument as particularly valid

However, we've known for a few seasons now that there are no cash turnstiles, so for people to still be turning up at the ticket office ten minutes before kick off and expecting to breeze in, get a ticket then get to their seat for the kick off just beggars belief. And that was the Secretary of Dee4Life? Someone that members of Dee4Life expect to represent them? Surely he or she should have known better? In my view, unless there's very valid reasons why someone can't get a ticket in advance AND can't get down to the ticket office even twenty or twenty five minutes before kick off, anyone rocking up at that time is stupid.

You don't turn up at The Odeon ten minutes before your chosen film starts because you know you need to get a ticket then make your way to the screen with possible queues at both points, and nobody says a word. But people whinge like bairns about doing it at Dens.

I had raised the matter of the lack of cash turnstiles for Dundee supporters in the Main Stand and Bobby Cox Stand at a previous Dee4life board of directors meeting. The Dee4life secretary must have not been paying attention because he was a season ticket holder and had no interest in cash turnstiles until it affected him.
I previously heard that the management of Dundee Football Club’s excuse for no cash turnstiles was to stop fraud by the cash turnstile operators.
However this must be yet another lame excuse as suddenly the management of Dundee Football Club can have cash turnstiles for Away supporters because the Away clubs will not sell tickets for games at Dens Park unless they receive a fee for doing so.
If John Nelms had accepted Dee4Life’s offer to pay for the full cost of installing an E ticketing scheme in Dens Park in September 2022 until the end of this season which was supposed to be our last season at Dens Park there would not have been a problem.
One excuse I heard at a Dee4life board of directors meeting was that according to Greg Fenton the wireless broadband system in Dens Park would not be able to cope with people turning up to enter Dens Park at halftime using the E ticketing scheme due to everyone switching on their phones during the halftime interval to get the latest football scores.
I stated that at several home games during the previous 2021-22 league season Dundee supporters had been leaving Dens Park before halftime as we had lost several goals and were facing a heavy defeat.
In my opinion this was yet another excuse from Nelms who does want to have anything to do with Dee4life but he is happy for them to keep handing over their funds to bankroll his beloved Dundee FC Community Trust.
