    Late Goals

Conceded against teams around us have really cost us this year,

    Coventry away 1-0
    93rd minute penalty

    Blackburn home 1-1
    90th Minute equaliser

    Millwall away 2-1
    90th minute winner

    Sunderland at home 2-1
    84th minute winner

All against teams in and around us. We'd be comfortably in the play offs now had it not been for those, not just for our added points but the extra points these teams wouldn't have. Some of these were very avoidable goals too.

This, and the start we had under Bruce, has cost us a top 6 place.

Most of the other teams can say the same. It happens.

For me the goal Griffiths gave away against QPR is the most significant. Those two points dropped has killed any genuine realistic hope of the play offs.

My perception is indeed that we ‘switch off’ during the last 5 mins of both halves. I have no statistics to corroborate, so maybe just another grouse !

That goal by QPR was partially down to Peiters, he gave Griffiths a nasty pass to deal with, which, of course, he didn’t. The late goal by Blackburn was more significant, though, as without that, Rovers would be out of the playoff picture and we would be level with Millwall.
