Fleetwood Town Fc - Owner Andy Pilley Found Guilty of Fraud Charges

Fleetwood Town Fc - Owner Andy Pilley [52] found guilty of fraud charges.

Fleetwood Town Fc owner Andy Pilly is facing a jail sentence after being found guilty of
a multi-million pound fraud, involving mis-sold energy contracts.
Andy Pilley was a leading figure of which National Trading Standards called, " a web of
interconnected companies who misled innocent small businesses across the U/K. "

Andy Pilley who has been chairman of Fleetwood Town Fc for 21 years, has been remanded
in custody & faces sentencing at Preston Crown Court on the 3rd July 2023.

He was found guilty of fraudulent trading, fraud by false representation & being involved
in the acquisition, rentention, use or control of the proceeds of fraudulently mis-sold
    energy contracts.
Through sham companies, Andy Pilley & his fellow fraudsters conned small business owners
    & locked them into signing long-term energy contracts between 2014 - 2016.
They posted messages on MondaySavingExpert.com and ISE.co.uk which falsely purported
to be made by customers, & contained fabricated content.
The fraud worked through telesales operation, run by companies that appeared to be
independent, but were actually controlled by Pilley & his sister Michelle Davidson [49], who
were directors of BES energy supply companies.

The sales companies targeted - Small businesses & Charities, including guest houses,
children's charities & companies providing support services for disabled people, as they
moved into new-premises, or when there energy contracts were up for renewal.
Sales reps lied about the contracts to persuade business owners to sign up.
Between 2010 - 2015 annual turn-over in the 2 BES companies grew from around
    £15m to £75m.
    By 2019 - turnover was over £100m & combined profits were between £2m & £12m
Also charged were Lee Andrew Qualter [52] & Joel Chapman [37].

    Verdict -
Wonder if the fraudsters signed up Fleetwood Town Fc for energy in the sham, &
did any of the money fraudently obtained go into the Fleetwood Town Fc coffers
to keep them afloat or buy players, not forgetting Joey Barton was manager at one
time, & he would not work for pea-nuts.
