Bad news: Barcelona set to spend big for bruno guimaraes

Fresh from helping Newcastle United secure Champions League football, Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes is a big-money target for Barcelona.

The Sun reports that the Spanish champions hope to bring in the Brazilian to reinforce their squad, which could help Newcastle balance their books.
“Barcelona want to sign Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes this summer,” the paper begins.
“The Catalan giants believe that the Brazilian ace can help catapult them back into Champions League contention.
“Selling Guimaraes would help Newcastle further strengthen their squad within the parameters of Financial Fair Play.
“And they would expect to command a club-record fee for a sale should they let him depart.
“Barca accept that Guimaraes is likely to cost around £87 million to prise away from the Toon.”

THIS IS BAD NEWS FOR THE CLUB, irrespective of the amount of money we would get for him. Removing Bruno from the team will be very, very unsettling, and will also affect JOELINTON. NOT HAPPY !!!!!!!!

I think we'd tell them to fuck off if they made a bid.

We don’t HAVE to sell anybody anymore, and where’s this story come from, some journo with time on his hands, and he would cost more than any 87million!

Exactly this. Why do we need to sell. We are on the up and up and could do better in the Champions League than Barca.

I think Bruno is settled here and won't want to unsettle his family.

As well as this there may be some Barcelona players wishing they were playing at the Toon.

Beside the fact the Barca don't have 87euros to scratch their A$$ with let alone 87million.

If Rice is worth 100m - Bruno is 100-120m.

On a personal note, Bruno is absolutely in love with Newcastle. His son is a Geordie. His dad is a local hero/celebrity. The whole city have fallen in love with Bruno & his family & Visa Versa!

The working class son of a taxi driver is symbolic of our rise to the top of world football. He represents everything we are as team, club, fans, city & people.

Bruno would never go to play for another Premier League team. Who is bigger than us?
    City? Don't need him.
Red Filth? we're shoulder to shoulder with them now.
Bin Dippers? cleaning our boots, massive step down at this point.
Chelsea? Toxic cesspit I don't see that being a happy camp for many years regardless of Poch taking over.
    Spuds? HAHAHAHAHA please
Ar£enal? not a step up anymore same as the Filth

When Bruno is 30-32 yrs old Real Madrid might come-a-calling, at which time we will have won several trophies, including EPL titles and a European Pot or two. Our man will graciously move on to a hero's farewell with nothing but love and admiration at the career he spent taking us to the footballing stratosphere.

Not before will that man wear another club's shirt, never in his career will he wear another EPL clubs shirt.

98% of the transfer gossip online/in papers is literally made up. I have no worries about Bruno leaving. We’re building a team here, not selling one.

Balance our books? WTF. We've had 14 years of balancing books. This is a pure unsettling tactic. I thought these fkers would be the ones needing to balance their books.

Barca can't afford him and his wages.

They'd need to break £100 million for him, they can't afford that if they want to sign others.

They'd need to break massive wages for him, they can't afford that if they want to sign others.

They haven't brought their wages down enough yet to be allowed to spend, they'll need to sell.

Also, can't see him wanting to move at the minute. He's settled, his wife and family are settled, he's loved and important here . . . also, he's in Champions League.

With his son being born in the UK he just said, "Maybe some day he will play for England." He isn't leaving any time soon, he loves it here.
