Sad Loss Gordon McQueen remember him as like you said an uncompromising central defender.
Also a player who deserved a thread/tribute to himself John Hollins again sadly passed away yesterday. Played over 700 games in the top flight.
R I P both.

Solid as a rock this man was. Remember watching him at Leeds. A colossal of a defender who took no prisoners.
Sadly it is all becoming too apparant just how many of the old school footballers have got or have passed through dementia, in relation to heading the old casey or laced ball as they were back then.
His most famous goal came at Wembley, when his header helped Scotland to a 2-1 win over England which sparked a famous pitch invasion by the Tartan Army.
RIP Big man.

RIP to both gentlemen. Two of my favourite players from my favourite era of football.
He did head the ball a lot but was it much heavier in the 70s and 80s?
It certainly was heavier, especially when wet. Two legends gone from the days when players pretended they weren’t injured not like the Nancys today.
Ps GM used to go in The Sportsman with Joe Jorden sometimes on their way back from away games I think?
*Joe Jordan. Seems like the edit feature isn’t working.
