Last time I saw GnR was at Man City’s old ground.. a quick google says it was 1992.

One of the most overrated bands in existence. I remember AC/DC at Wembley and they came back to the UK on the Black Ice tour… Brian Johnstone took Ill and was advised to pack it in so Avl Rose stepped in. Very fortunately they offered a full refund if you did not want to go so we didn’t…

Commercial crap and made a lot of money from a handful of albums…

If it was on TV last night I would have turned the channel over.

They were on Glastonbury last night. I enjoyed the musicianship and Slash showed that he is one of the better guitarists of the age, though that isn’t saying a lot. Page, Clapton, Page, Gallagher, Bonnamassa need have no fears. I turned it off half way through the set as it was monotonous trash.

Just watche Cat Stephens though. What a musician, what a back catalogue and a man of peace. Tremendous stuff.

Really disappointed by guns n roses. I don’t know what I was expecting really but it was bloody awful sadly.

Cat Stevens was great and you hear him, I couldn’t hear Axl Rose, thankfully or Debbie harry.

I enjoyed Guns and Roses. I wasn't expecting much. Axl is no David Draiman and it's pretty amazing he can even speak after the abuse he's given his voice and body. It was the Slash show and well worth watching just for that. I have a friend who was there and said it was great, with so much energy and no problem with his mic, that must have been something to do with the BBC feed.

I thought the Lewis Capaldi set was very moving. I am a big fan of his music but it was the way the crowd picked him up and carried him through the set when his Tourette's made singing difficult. He just wants to sing but although he doesn't want to be he is becoming a bright light inspiring others.

Sunday, I enjoyed Cat Stevens although I'm not a great fan of his music, he was very professional.

Then Elton. Again I'm not a huge fan. I admire him, but with a couple of exceptions, I'm not a big fan of the music. I had a very surreal experience when he played at Brunton Park. I had agreed to help out in the corporate tent before Elton came on because they were short-staffed. Once the gig started and people had found their seats I set off for home but, because Warwick Road was closed for the duration of the gig I was trapped, security wouldn't let me leave! I went to tell my boss my predicament and was told she was upstairs in the director's box. I found her talking to the then major of Carlisle who was thoroughly enjoying the night. Elton was belting out a song and the mayor insisted we danced with her (one of those girls round handbags type dances) in the director's box throughout the number. One of my weirdest visits to Brunton Park!

Got to say for a farewell set I thought he was brilliant last night, ok he had the best roadies, the best of everything but he left a memory out there and showed what a live show can be.

Elton was brilliant, I’m unsure about him as a person, but you can’t deny he is a brilliant artist/performer.

To do what he did last night at 76 was just phenomenal.

I saw hit at BP and it was still the best concert I’ve been too. I wasn’t really an Elton fan then.

What exactly does Mullen mean by "unsure about him as a person"??! Homophobia alive and well on here it seems

It’s a bit odd your first post is regarding this?

Anyway, Personally I couldn’t care less what ***uality Elton John is, I’m just unsure about him due to the things he has done, admittedly in the past and the amount of super injunctions he’s took out.

We are all entitled to a private life, but there’s been some “rumours” about him that the press aren’t allowed to talk about.

That’s what makes me a bit “unsure” about him not the fact he is gay.

I absolutely loved the concert I went to at Brunton park it was brilliant as was Glastonbury.
