    Maxi on his way out

    according to various reporters.

Depending on which one you believe, some say the club are forcing him out, others say he is actively looking to move on with Serie A his preferred choice, although Saudi are chasing him.

I personally dont care if he stays or goes.

If we sign Barnes id be happy with that

I'd much rather keep Maxi, forget about Barnes and invest in areas where we are more in need of backup - left-back, central defence, right sided winger and a striker.

However, should he leave, Barnes is a decent backup, I just happen to think the money could be better spent elsewhere. Barnes is not cheap.

    Absolutely this.

Nowt against Barnes but nobody can touch Maxi on his day.

And you'd back Howe to make his 'day' happen more often than not this season. If not, I woy=uldn't mind seeing him go next year but I think he offers enough to ne worth persevering with.

i dont get the hysteria over Maxi, yes he can dribble like nobody else in the league but he turns up for 1 game in every 12.

The end product is non existent with him.

Barnes is a massive upgrade if we replace him, to put it into perspective, last season Barnes scored more goals for relegated Leicester than Maxi has scored in his entire premier league career.

In the PL, Barnes has racked up 146 appearances and scored 35 goals and got 25 assists

Maxi has 111 appearances with 12 goals and 19 assists

Only for the right money. As I've said before players like these are rare and I'd like to see him stay as a bench impact player. He is a clear starter if he can be consistent with scoring. Theres a few I'd sooner see going first.

Well said Hughie, Maxi has that X-FACTOR, does HARVEY BARNES have this in him ????? Not an upgrade, in my opinion.

Ahh man, I am so torn on this.

Maxi just doesn't fit well into this team. I'd have been happy to keep him for one more season to see if he can make it work but if we can get big money for him, it might be a good deal for all.

On his day he's unplayable, but he has maybe 1-2 days a season! He turned up against City early last season, but hardly contributed after that. He's constanlty injured.

He definitely has the X factor, he's just so inconsistent and his end product lets him down.

Barnes scored more in 1 season that Maxi has during his entire NUFC career.
Barnes score 1 less and returned only 3 less assists than Rashford last season.
Barnes is by far the more productive player than Maxi, is he as electric and eccentric, absolutely not.

The money is nothing to do with it.

I broke down in another thread how the money is spread over the life of the contract.

Eddie Howe wants technical, hard working players with output.

Maxi just doesn't have the output and doesn't work hard enough.

I love the bloke we are indebted to him for the days of the Cabbage patch however we need wingers who are gonna return 8-10 goals and 15-20 assists.

Just don't see Maxi doing that in our set up

There’s a lot of noise about Barnes joining us. If it’s true, it can only mean that Maxi is off.
