Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson could be considering his position
at the club, after the Indian owners have slashed the budget by 20% for the
coming 2023-24 season.
This comes after the clubs Indian owners were advised to dramatically reduce
their investment in the championship club.
This comes after the Indian government back home, advised Blackburn Rovers
owners to slash overseas investment.
The owners the V.H. Group [Venky's London Ltd] of Blackburn Rovers have introduced
a freeze on bringing in any new players, even on loan or a free transfer for the
new 2023-24 season.
This comes after manager Tomasson had lined up a experienced centre-back, & a
premier league player on loan.
The lack of investment in to getting players in, could mean a fire sale of players
within the club, & perhaps Tomasson may walk.
Yet another poorly run football club.
So Tomasson isn’t interested because he might have to put a shift in with meagre resources
Owt for an easy life eh Jon
That’s another club we might be able to finish above this season
and let's not forget they've now lost Ben Brereton DÃ*az.
Seems strange this one -
Blackburn Rovers signed 4 players for this season already -
Niall Ennis ................... Free from Plymouth Argyle.
Sondre Tronstad . ......... Free from Vitesse Arnhem
Arnold Sigurdsson ........ Loan from CSKA Moscow
Tom Bloxham .............. Free from Tottenham Hotspur
Indian Government must have advised Venky's after these signings.
Yes I’m sure he is
But there’s a big difference between being miffed and getting on with it vs I’m off without giving it a try
Many employees come across similar scenarios in their working lives and it’s a case of making the most of what you have and trying to shine through.
A bit like MT does and PW used to do when at the nys
It’s happened loads of times in my working life. Times change, budgets change, promises are reneged on.
Easy to finish mid table in the cship with a large budget

I suppose, unlike us, he can say no thanks and bugger off with financial security. Much easier to take that route when faced with a set of adverse factors than it is to bunker down, like most would. Could be his get out card also, next job he goes for he can claim broken promises were why he left, even though he may be predicting a rough time forthcoming. We shall have to wait and see. Difference, as is often the case, wealth. It gives you, above all else, options.
Could be Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson is set to leave the club,
after talks with the owners, he feels the club is not up to his vision of running
the football club.
With Tottenham Hotspur set to activate the release clause of 18 year old centre
half Ashley Philips, set at £3m.
Philips is a player Tomasson used 14 times last season in the championship, &
wants to hold onto the player.
