With what appears to be a rather bloated squad at the moment and our stated policy of developing players, who will be the
first to go to help balance the finances?

Dyche must be confounded by the number of players VK has signed especially as he now finds himself in a situation at Everton more akin to his last season at Burnley.
I am not sure that we will be selling many. Most of the team is not proven at PL level. The ones who have a good season will become targets. I expect the development/ sale/ profit will be the next transfer window or more likely next summer.
There is an old maxim in business - the first year you look after the business, the second year is break even and the third year the business takes care of you.
We are in the second year in that context, with the expectation that the plan delivers in year three - development, sell to realise profit that is used to roll the model forward, increasing profit each year to grow the value of the club, whilst will result in profit for the owners.
We've already sold Bobby Thomas to Coventry for £2 million, although that's not going to balance the books.![]()
In truth Kriti to a point I think that’s right but I don’t think Dyche had the network or skills to attract players at the right money, not a criticism of Dyche but he wasn’t responsible for bringing what I would call players to develop and sell on.
His philosophy was different he liked British players who could play a bit but were workers VK has the advantage I think of being an icon in the game firstly but also not long finished playing so potentially relationships with younger players across the Prem - and in Belgium/ France and Holland which has obviously Paid dividends up to press.
There is no guarantee VK will succeed even now and Dyche may better him with survival in the premiership, somehow I don’t think Sean would have pushed us on if he had the same funds as we’d probably have spent 30 million on a overpriced British player instead of getting 4/5 for that price and developing them.
I know which style of football I prefer , but each to their own - survival in the big league is everything
We played them in the preseason and I certainly got the impression they need a few, especially strikers. Calvert Lewin - who is turning out to be a bit of a sicknote didn't play but otherwise they were full strength in the first half - both teams fielded different elevens second half.
They were quick on the counter, played some decent build up but nothing we couldn't handle and their best forward was McNeil who made a couple of good runs.
Their strongest aspect was their back four and Tarks saved them on several occasions with blocks and last ditch tackles - he was brilliant - along with Ashley Young who was incredibly fit for a 38 year old.
Must be very frustrating for Dyche. He's obviously doing some decent work with what he has available and since that game they've signed Danjuma on loan but I'm not convinced it'll be enough to keep them up this time. And neither were the disgruntled Everton fans who fully expected their strongest team on the day to beat a L1 side and went home disappointed.
Hi sinkov. I Hope you are fully recovered. Good to see you back. I am sure you are right. Hopefully they will handle it with that in mind - bring in new quality players then sell. It will soften the blow. I see we have tied Zaroury to a 5 year contract. If he makes the grade in the PL he will command quite a fee.
