Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Peterborough United

Give Jonson Clarke Harris the kind of room we gave John Marquis on Saturday and we will be punished .

I'm looking for a reaction tomorrow night following that rag bag display we witnessed at Bristol Rovers and we will need one to get the three points .

    Interesting night ahead .

There's obviously problems bedding in this new defence so that has to be taken into consideration. I ain't gonna expect it to be right straight away because out of the back 3, we have a right wing back filling in at the moment and a former non league player being hoisted into a higher level of football which is far from ideal when you take into consideration that his predecessor was the best defender in league 1 last season. They'll have to learn fast. Tomorrow's opponents will be less forgiving than Saturdays opponents.

The question at this stage for me is can we score the necessary goals to compensate for our rocky defence? I saw signs that we can at Bristol.

I think this match will be a goal fest.

I can’t see us getting anything from this one, if we play as we did at Brizzle we will get a hammering! If Russell plays as bad as he did he will get a hammering! If we go 2 or 3 down Collins will get a hammering!
On the plus side if Connell plays instead of Russell we may only lose from the odd goal.
JCH will be itching to get at our back line tomorrow………………..he’s in the shop window atm and will be desperate to score goals.

We have no right to know the private, confidential medical issues that are affecting Connell at the moment. I am more than OK with that but it would be informative if fans could be told something along the lines of whether Connell is probably out for weeks, months or the whole season.
That would be enough for me and maybe would cut down on the speculation.

The first game of the season against a team who may well be in the top six at the end of the season. Should Peterborough's strikers be at all clinical with finishing toneet then they could well get the three or four that Bristol Rovers should have scored on Saturday. The defence is all over the place at the moment and i dread to think what it would be like if Kitching and/or Williams joins the loss of Collins/ Isted, Andersen and Bobby Thomas from the heart of the Wembley defence with Connell in front of them, all organised by Duff.

No appeal from the Media Team to "Turn Oakwell Red" at the moment as this season's shirts (designed by JAQ and Colm Dillane), supplied by American company Fanatics, will not be available until the home league fixture against Portsmouth on 9th September, just too late for the kids (even adults) to wear on summer holidays. Parekh-style scarves to wear loosely around the neck over a suit can be purchased before then to wave over heads.

Judging by the complaints it seems Puma are the brand that makes the shirts but Fanatics are where fans order them online. At my age I am long past wearing a replica shirt so only reporting what I have read Chops.
