That is 4 major Finals for Sarina in just 6 years- 2 European Championships (winning both) and now a second World Cup Final. I hope this time she leads England to victory over Spain on Sunday.

So do I, and I wonder if the senoritas are as liable as their male counterparts to throw themselves onto the turf, writhing in agony, if a defender so much as looks at them. Surely not.
Men:
It's coming home ... It's coming home ……
Repeat ad nauseam……….
Women 57 years later:
“Don't bloody bother. I'll frigging get it myself."
Sack Gareth and appoint sarina, simples.
They'll not sack him, but should he stand down anytime soon, would they consider Sarina ? I doubt it very much but I have heard worse ideas. It would not bother me in the slightest and I'd love to see how our male players with their professed commitment to equality and diversity reacted, they could hardly object could they.
I watched the game today and for the first time ever I forgot I was watching women attempting to play football.
England have 6 or 7 proper international class footballers who really can play the beautiful game. Hemp reminds me of Ralph Coates!
I hope we beat Spain, English folks need some good news for a change. Sod the Irish, Scots and Welsh, they will all hope the Lionesses get beat anyway.![]()
Well said BT, let's wish the lasses well because they are a real team with a smashing manager.
I was involved with coaching womens' football about five years ago and it was an absolute pleasure to be with young lasses who wanted to learn and improve. We were at a lower level than the league system, however, we played Stoke in the Cup and beat them and you can't imagine the sense of achievement that the girls felt.
I always think that, if the FA had not banned womens' football in the 1920s the standard in this country would be really high.
Take the game as it is, don't compare with the men because it is still developing because of the way that they were treated.
Spain will be tough opponents in the final. They have technically very good players as they proved when playing England in the quarter-final of the Euros last year. Spain will want revenge for that quarter final defeat by England and know how to frustrate opponents as well as play skilful football. Wiegman has the knack however of picking eleven talented players and getting the best team performance from them.
