£35million summer signing Alexis Mac Allister to miss game at SJP

As per usual, that grinning, snarling hyena, KLOPP, is going to try and appeal the red card decision that had £35million summer signing Alexis Mac Allister sent off during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.

“I think the amount of times I was asked about it shows it’s worth discussing again, which we will probably do,” Klopp said after the match.

“I asked Macca and he said, ‘I touched him but not really’. That’s all he told me.

“After the game I saw it back. I think if you have a list of points, what we need to give a red card, besides contact there’s nothing else, no other boxes ticked.

“VAR would not overturn it because contact means it’s not a clear and obvious mistake.

“Now the punishment, 40 minutes with 10 men is already punishment enough. But let’s see, we have to talk to the authorities.”

Liverpool were the only Premier League side to do the double over Newcastle last season with Klopp’s side securing a last-gasp 2-1 win at Anfield last August before winning 2-0 at St James’ Park in February. Magpies goalkeeper Nick Pope was shown a straight red card in that match and missed the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United as a result.

Let's hope every fan brings in a bunch of eggs to hurl at that KUNT when he walks out into the technical area !!!

Klopp loves being in the news. VAR has had a disastrous start to the season in other games. I haven’t seen any of the Liverpool game but you can see from Klopp’s comments that he has a very weak argument.

Mind, in McAllister's defence, it was a shocking decision to send him off.

If the appeal is rejected, it'll be on the slimmest technical grounds. Obviously, I hope it is rejected but, if it was one of our players, I'd be raging.

Is Klopp appealing the penalty they got for a blatant dive?

But yeah, never a red. Bruno G did something similar against City.

I'd say it was a red myself.

Studs up - maybe it shouldn't be but they get given all the time, so it was nice to see it given against LiVARpool for once.
