    Today's Games

Half-time and the main news is that Mansfield are losing 0-1 at Colchester, and MK Dons are down 1-2 at home to Stockport, who are beginning to climb the table after a slow start. Gillingham have scored twice for the first time this season to re-take top spot. The team to keep your eye on is Swindon who are leading 1-0 at half time and are currently in third place, with a game in hand.

Don't want to jinx it, but FGR are heading for a 5th home defeat in a row (that's every home league game this season) against a Doncaster side who have yet to win a game this season.

Sutton look like losing their 7th game in a row.

Stockport winning away at MKD. Going to have to start taking them very seriously now it seems.

Absolutely, they do seem to start slow but they have a real good manager and the funds to strengthen….as well as a good squad to start with. They were my favourites for the title.

It’s starting to feel a bit like last season, but with far more teams involved! It’s anyone’s guess who will actually go up, it’s going to be exciting but we’ve made a great start and giving ourselves a good chance of mounting a challenge.

October looks particularly nasty when we face the following…..

    Swindon (h)
    Barrow (a)
    Mansfield (h)
    Gillingham (a)
    Newport (h)
    Wrexham (h)

Those fixtures will give us a great idea of where we belong in this league, although the most difficult games are at home.

    4 home games is a positive. 4 games against current top 7 sides. I’d say it’s a hum-dinger of a month.

Wrexham, like ourselves, still unbeaten after an opening day defeat in which they conceded 5 goals. They are away to Stockport next however.

FGR down in 21st but away from home they've taken 7 points from 9, so a potential banana skin for us next week. Losing at home to Doncaster is a terrible result for them though.

If we needed grounding a little I’ve only just realised that 7 of the 8 teams we have played are 15th or lower!

How will we fare against the upper half teams? October will tell us a lot.
