    RIP Ilya Kuryakin.

Sad to hear of the death of if one of my first TV heroes from when I was about 4 or 5 years of age.

David McCullum and Robert Vaughan in The Man From U.N.C.L.E are my first TV memory along with Batman.

Still acting in NCIS right up until his death at 90.

Another childhood hero bites the dust.

"Open Channel D"! Used to love the Man from UNCLE as a kid. Only much later did I learn of Ian Fleming's role in its creation, although his original idea was for a single agent "Solo" but McCallum was such a hit as Ilya that they kept the format of having two agents.

Never really got into Sapphire & Steel (despite J.L.&#128513 but remember David McCallum in Colditz (which also starred Robert Wagner I think?) and liked him in NCIS too. If I remember rightly he lost his first wife, Jill Ireland, to Charles Bronson who he introduced her to whilst filming The Great Escape.

Anyhow, yet another of my childhood favourites passes. RIP and thanks for the memories.
