The power of the wind, batton the hatches as people say.

The neighbours , from which our garden backs on to , heavy gazebo this evening landed upside down on my next door neighbours pitched roof extension.
My dog started barking, we heard a bang I thought it was the fox jumping the fence.
I looked round and saw the gazebo on top of the roof. It had flew through the air over 50 yards .
It was bolted down and 4 poles where 4inch in diameter , it took 4 neighbours to get it down.
Luckily nobody was hurt, just a few broken tyles.
I drove round to the close to tell our neighbour, he hadn't a thing and had just come back from holiday.

Hi, he was planning to take it down tomorrow.
It was an expensive very heavy one ,which was bolted down to the patio in the sheltered part of the garden.

Here, in the East Midlands, we’ve had little or no wind at all. It’s been as calm as it could be. When there are high winds they do tend to affect the more westerly areas of our country.
