    Let us pray

Congrats to the European team for stuffing the USA.

I have played golf most of my life (badly, sadly) and have always loved the integrity of the game. I know no other where one calls an infringement against oneself.

As well as losing, shame on Cantly, who kicked his ball, for not calling a penalty on himself and his caddy, LaCava, for deliberately interfering with a putt.

I seriously hope that this will not become the norm. Bad enough all the cheating in football without dragging golf down. VAR next?

Snooker players will always tell the ref if they inadvertently touch the ball.

The Yanks have previous S_c, their antics have no place on a golf course.

It's going to be fun in two years time in New York, it could easily boil over there, the hype is getting ridiculous. It's not really what golf is about imo.

We weren't too bad at it ourselves in Rome. I watched a lot of the coverage in the couple of days before the event, and it was a constant whipping up of the fans to get on our side and cheer the lads on, which inevitably leads to booing the opposition. It is what it is, it's going to be worse in New York, and it WILL lead to a serious confrontation at some point in the future.

I was at Brookline in 1999 with three of my mates, 2 Yanks, 1 Irishman.

At the end I was having to physically keep them apart, the patriotism you experience in the US is very bloody hostile and intimidating.

God knows what the rednecks will conjure up in 2025.

I expect it will be down to their golf team to MAGA.

Scary and I will be in the Canary Islands watching the drama unfold on TV in a bar somewhere no doubt.
