Our youngest was recommended this to watch this by his tutor as part of his Media Studies course and quite enjoyed it myself. The lead actor, Omar Sy, was also in French movie "Untouchable" / "The intouchables" which is worth checking out too.
Subtitles never bother me and I always think that those who don't watch foreign language movies/tv series with them often miss out on some really good dramas.
