    Vacancy advertised at the club. Got your name written all over it, WTF. 🤔 You can get your points across and make the difference...

    All joking aside, I wouldn't mind applying if I thought I had a real prospect of making a (long) shortlist, but some requirements I can't fulfil;

    1. I'm not local to Leeds (obviously!)

    2. I haven't worked in a similar capacity

    3. I'd suggest I have an "understanding of fan engagement and an ability to build rapport with fans" yes, honestly! But I can't back up the sentiment with evidence in any past role

    4. Allied with the point at (3) I don't have the "2-3 years’ experience of delivering excellent service in a customer facing or communication role" (Done the job of introducing new customer service/relationship systems, but that's not quite the same thing)

    The opportunity is truly exciting, I just hope they appoint someone who would be as good as me in all the other areas, and can fill in the gaps I can't

    Yep, jokes aside, as I'm aware you don't live in the vacinity. Sometimes the appointed person in these such roles could well set up "subcommittees or groups" to provide feedback from varying levels of supporters in different locations...to assist them getting all views and opinions. Who knows?...something to keep an eye out for.

    This sounds like HR in the corporate world. One of the slimiest professions in the world. If not for politicians and drug cartels they'd be the lowest form of employment.

    Created to act as "advocate" for the employees concerns and benefit so they would not unionize. Instead they have become SS and henchmen for the corporation.

    The 'full job' remit for the Leeds Utd club's vacancy below in case anyone's not seen it.

    Looking at some of the required skills and competencies I am not sure this is one for the ‘oracle’ so assume you were all taking the proverbial.

    Think you are being a little harsh on the club. The job spec is very firmly couched in terms that emphasise the need to build relationships with external bodies 9the fan cohort, supporter organisations such as LUST, and act as conduit between them. Not sure "HR" would fit the bill there

    If the post succeeds in passing to the club the feelings and concerns, suggestions and opportunities that supporters identify or have, and in passing back to those organisations and individuals, in a transparent and clearly communicated manner what and how the club response might or will be, then I for one consider it a good thing. Whether that will result in radical change is another matter, American entrepreneurs (which is what the 49-ers Enterprises organisation is basically) don't have a hugely positive record of success in "relationship management" with those who might have ideas that run contrary to theirs.
