Has anyone else heard about this, supposed to be at least 12 points. If so it gives us a lifeline but i can't see it happening.?

They’re gonna struggle to cover it up Chris I think , the points deduction is part of the problem - we amongst 3 others are suing them for 100 million.

I’m not sure how the premier league can cover it up if it’s definitively proven in court re FFP , you could say it’s petty but it cost us millions and Leeds - Leicester - southampton

If proven they’ll have to do their bit and deduct points or it’s a free for all from them on.

Absolutely no chance of it happening, anybody who thinks it will is living on fantasy Island. 🙄

The consequences of a guilty verdict are too complicated to imagine so we probably won't get one.

If Everton get a points deduction, I will be amazed.

As Carragher has suggested, Ã* points deduction for one offence means that City with 115 charges against them - where do you go with that?

It will be covered up with some creative accountancy relating to the effect of Covid, the new stadium and so on. That will leave space for the handling of City and Chelsea - two teams beloved of the PL.

It is only the undesirables like Burnley who would be handed a points deduction ensuring relegation from the PL.

I hadn't realised it was going back to our previous relegation, I thought it was a new issue. In that case it will never happen given the ramifications already mentioned. FFP has been a joke since its inception as regards the big money clubs.

"The league’s profitability and sustainability rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of £105m over a three‑year period or face sanctions. Everton had recorded losses of £371.8m over the previous three years and annual losses for five consecutive years – more than £430m in total over the period."

The EPL are asking for a 12 points deduction. Everton are in the deep brown stuff and that is for sure.

The question at the moment is whether the proposed buy out with 777 Partners will still go through. Presumably the prospective buyers will be told if the deal is approved by the EPL that they will have to take on any FFP penalties incurred by the previous owners. I am not wanting to kick Everton while they are down here. They were one of the main clubs to suffer from the European ban on English clubs after Heysel. There is no doubt however that if Everton have clearly breached FFP they will need to be held to account or there will be zero chance of dealing with any other miscreants.

If the EPL are brave enough to open this particular can of worms Sir Outwood what on earth will they do with Manchester City...
