We may be recalling Yankuba Minteh from loan at Feyenoord

I don't know how strong this is, but if correct, may be a good move.

Eddie Howe says Newcastle United may "look at" recalling Yankuba Minteh from Feyenoord this January.

The Gambia international forward has netted three times in the Dutch top-flight and has impressed in Holland. After immediately arriving from OB Odense in the summer before being loaned straight out to Feyenoord.

Howe said: "We’ll look at our players that are out on loan, with a view to whether they could potentially strengthen us. If it’s good for their career as well, then we’ll certainly look at what we can do.

"He’s (Minteh) done very well, although unfortunately he’s injured at the moment. He’s come back for an assessment on that injury because we need to check and see how he is.

"We need to work out how serious the injury is and when he’ll be back, and then we’ll make a decision on him like we would with all our loan players."

Reflecting, on Minteh's loan spell of three goals and one assist in 12 matches, Howe said: "I think his loan spell has been a productive one. He’s scored goals and been part of a successful team. He’s certainly got talent, although the Premier League is a very different league to any other league in Europe.

"That doesn’t mean that players can’t come in or out of the Premier League. He’s someone we like, and he’s certainly got the athletic profile that we need."

Needs must then do it. Theres also that Ozzie lad Kuol though not sure how ready or well he is doing. Shows the benefit of having a decent load of talent out on loan.

Gives us an option, at least.

Shame we can't do it now.

Won’t happen. Minteh’s injured so unlikely to help us before our regulars start coming back.

Plus he is not ready yet, the coaches say he needs to learn to pass more, instead of always Trying to do it all himself,

I'm sure it wouldn't take E.H. long to change that

I've always thought best to leave him and to be honest I still stand with that.

However, however, we are ****ed at the minute and he could make a difference.

So reluctantly I would agree with him coming back.

Well, funnily enough, having read that about him, I'm going the other way-let him stay there.
