remember when Thatcher was prime minister, parts of England experienced a cold snap and people were give a cold allowance.
Places in Scotland like Breamar had lower temperatures than England for years and years, so eventually they received the same allowance !

At the end of November 2010 when 18 inches of snow fell in Dundee. Nobody called it a severe weather event.
Goodness knows how the current mayor of London would have survived during the winter of 1962-63 when lots of homes did not have central heating.
