    45 Years Ago Yesterday

    Albion 2 Valencia 0

A personal memory from me. It was the last match I went to with my then long term girlfriend. Happy Days.

How time flies! For any of the younger posters (are there any) the statue in front of the East Stand is Bombers rocket from that game.

I was at that game right down the front of the brummie road right behind the goal and what not many people don’t know is that Tony Browns other goal was a penalty that he hit so hard it actually went through the net and bounced around behind the net causing all the photographers who had gathered there to scatter like scared sheep. Quite funny.

Up in smoke. I was just over ten years old at the time. Ten. I'm not going to pretend it feels like yesterday but last month wouldn't be too far off.

Every day life and the world itself have changed in so many ways since then. Forty five years gone in what seems like a long blink.

My parents have been gone for over ten years now and they were younger then than I am now. Sobering. Very sobering indeed.

And apart from a third tier playoff final and a Championship title we still haven't won a fuggin' thing 😆 .
