Thread: 5th place

    5th place

How exactly does 5th place work this season, I’ve heard it being said it depends on how the English team do in the campions league, what does that mean?

2 teams are out you’d imagine Man City will get to the semis at least, Arsenal could get to the semis as well, if they do, will that mean CL place for 5th place if the do?

It's as difficult as the current handball rule. They seem to keep chopping and changing.

I’d imagine Uefa would want an extra English team in it, English teams bring in the most money.

Extra CL spots are awarded for 2 top countries in Uefa season.
That counts CL, EL and conference cup.
Basically all points are divided by number of teams.
England is currently 4th behind germany, italy and spain. Gap now is 1-1.5 point, and it is around 5-6 wins for remaining clubs.
So, the more clashes like Bayern - Inter the better, so they eliminate each other. Top scenario is all english teams knockout all others as early as possible

    Don't think we're getting 5th, sadly.

I think Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Villa will all finish above us.

Depending on our signings in jan and our injuries. I think Villa will go all the way to the Conference league final, their focus will shift. I think we can beat them to 5th.

Spurs, just don’t know with them they can go on a losing streak as easily as they can go on a winning streak.

    5th is very achievable.

Exactly. We might not be the favorites, but it is within the reach.
Last year it was 3-5 points gap - it might be just one bad day in the office for one team and some lucky strike for the other.
May be we sign some striker and he’ll go all papis cisse

I agree with this seeing as we haven't so many matches in front of us now, cripples returning and a great transfer window to get excited about.
