Smiffy noticed you passed comment on my avator on the Pitch Reconstruction thread...Its not Chopper Harris in the photo crabbing hold of Billy Bremner, it's Dave Mackay of Spurs...The match was the kick off to the new season back in August 1966... Mackay was "upset" with Bremner because he'd kick him twice in the leg where he'd broken it in two places the previous season, so he was just coming back from injury...Mackay had said he wouldn't have minded it so much if Billy had kick him in his other good leg instead...Don't make them like that nowadays...
When you think back Scotland had some great players back then, Mackay, Bremner, Denis Law, Jim Baxter, Jimmy Johnstone, Alan Gilzean, to name but a few, and of course our own Don Masson...
