    RIP Rob Burrow.

This news made me really sad today.

I’m not a massive Rugby League fan but I always watched Leeds Rhinos during his great era.

To be afflicted by that horrific MND condition and to smile like he did through 5 years of misery was a testament to the man.

Great player and a top lad by all accounts.

I hope he gets the true peace he deserves.

It’s a very bad ending; one of my best friends died of MND, truly horrific disease.

MND is terrible incurable affliction. What has shocked me is the speed with which it took Rob Burrow. The extensive TV coverage given to him over the last 24 hours is fully justified. Very brave man with wonderful friends. I had tears in my eyes. RIP.

Couldn’t agree more! Brave he was until the last where many including me would have given up.

    RIP

He lasted 5 years Q since diagnosis which is the average for MND.

One of my best friends dies less than 3 months after diagnosis and just 5 months after his first symptoms.

He had a terrible last 3 weeks but in truth I think he was lucky.

Rob’s decline in the last couple of years has been painful to watch.

Totally agree and full respect to him for living his last years courageously. I would have been off to Switzerland

Try to watch One Rob Burrow on the BBC iPlayer and not to choke.

I’ve just watched it twice, one after another.

To watch the magic that bloke could produce and to see his body reduced to rubble so quickly is shocking.

What a bloke though and what a family, his daughters are a total joy.

Kevin Sinfield as well, a truly wonderful friend.

A pity we don’t all have the luck to have a Burrow or Sinfield in our lives.

I have just watched that programme. It was extremely moving and sad yet at the same time so uplifting seeing such genuine love and affection. Thanks for telling me about it Mick.
