    I see that…

Barry aka Northernsoul has got the boot off t’other board after some comments about womankind over there. I’m putting this here because I know that Blackdog was wondering who it was on X.

    Northernsoul is Northernsoul.

He likes Tommy Robinson and doesn't like immigrants. Nothing he says is any worse than Alf Garnett used to say on Till Death Us Do Part.

I don't agree with his politics and many of his views but I do believe he should be allowed to express them.

I still don't think he should have been excluded from this board and I don't think he should have been banned on t'other board for what were deemed misogynistic comments.

Unfortunately some people on t'other board seem to think what one individual says on a message board can damage the image of that board and in turn Carlisle United. I don't see it that way. A message board is for supporters of a football club and allows them a voice. There are still many dinosaurs attending Brunton Park and they are as entitled to an opinion as anyone else.

I should make it clear that he was banned from here by DSG because of a complaint from a third party about a possibly libellous comment. I had no say in the matter.

Unbelievably Richard Mullen has now been banned (at least until next week).

He expressed his condolences for Andrew Jenkins but then caveated it with some honest remarks (nothing offensive).

The latter was apparently not acceptable as it could be deemed offensive at this time.

Unbelievable number of hypocrites over there. They were calling Andrew Jenkins all sorts when the East Stand was named after him.

Correct HOB and well summed up.

I thought it was quite a fair post, gave my condolences but also said I felt he wasn’t a good chairman. Not offensive and as good as you’re going to get from me.

I really can’t be done with hypocrisy/virtue signaling it’s my pet hate. As you’ve said we had a thread re the east stand plus many others on the east stand. There’s even one on Nixon, if he sadly past can we not say anything bad.

TBH I was getting sick of the place, the hypocrisy which has been highlighted by this.

Mullen you are a disgrace. The man gave decades of time and millions of pounds in service to the club we support. Without him there would not be a Carlisle United today. So to say he wasnt a good chairman is idiotic.

He was not the perfect chairman however (who is) but please for the love of God save any criticism for at least a day after his death and not on his tribute thread. That is if you have a decent bone in your body

It is not hypocracy to pay tribute to someone if you also think they are not perfect (otherwise an obiituary would never be written now would it). It is however disgraceful to slag someone off on a tribute post, especially someone who has served the club like no other. No wonder you were banned, And I think you need to look up what virtue signalling actually is before you make in your pet hate, cos thats not what people paying tribute to him are doing

    I didn’t slag him off, I said wasn’t a good chairman.

I now understand why we never achieved much.

It is virtue signaling, the same people posting RIP/goodman etc saying all sorts about him when he was alive.

Sorry to see what happened Richard.

T'other Board seems to be heading the same way as the Trust.

Main concern now seems to be to avoid the Board "getting a bad name" and "reflecting badly on the club".

No need to challenge the majority view and no acceptance of anything that "rocks the boat".

No acceptance of individuals with different viewpoints.

Don't worry though, the honeymoon won't last and before you know it the tide will turn and the views of the current "rogue individuals" will once again be regarded as acceptable.

To be honest I thought my comment was fair, I explained I think he is a nice well respected person but I didn’t think his tenure was good. If that’s offensive so be it.

This is the same AJ that called supporters a nuisance and spoilt his day, wouldn’t attend fans forums, called someone trying to help as dubious, called the club and people were trying to take it away plus many others.

I may be different but my opinion doesn’t change on a ssd passing plus respect works both ways.

On the other forum, I haven’t posted as much recently as everything is considered offensive and alternative views frowned upon. Yes I do feel there’s a sense of not upsetting anyone.

Although moonie added that he doubted I’d steal the sponsorship money to put it was odd. No correlation between not being a great fan of AJ and theft. He has my contact details and knows how to contact me.
