No surprise there. A nothing story released by Notts to try and take our minds off Langstaff. I'd be more interested in reading about a couple of stellar signings

Just hope he's fully recovered. Having him back in the side at his previous standard would be a massive boost. Should figure heavily pre-season.

So you don't want to know/care who wears the armband?

Is MP a leader? Is SM for that matter?

Palmer leads by example and, alongside Jones, is one of our best players. It's a sensible choice.

    Exactly.

To MP this will be a big thing. People are still mardy about Macca leaving.

You'd expect a captain to motivate players before a game and at half time, and to rebuke players who are making mistakes or underperforming during a game. MP does not strike me as that sort of player. He doesn't appear to be at all vocal.

Any captain is helped by players like MP, but that doesn't mean that players like MP bring leadership qualities themselves.

I'm thinking about players like Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, Terry Butcher, Kevin Ball etc

I suspect Palmer will primarily lead by example, rather than by demonstrating the shoutiness frequently mistaken for actual leadership in all walks of life.
