    Olympics today!

Two of the very best finishes to races you’ll ever see.

Yee wins the Triathlon after being 14 seconds down with less than a mile left and after looking well beaten for a considerable amount of the run.

Then in the women’s 4’s our ladies were behind for the entire race until the very last stroke and they win it by a couple of inches.

To have those two events back to back on TV it was the best 10 minutes of sport I’ve seen in a very long time.

Talk about never giving up, these two events epitomised that entirely.

Didn't manage to catch all of the men's triathlon due to work but was lucky enough to catch the last parts of the event and brilliant performance by Alex Yee. This is what the Olympics is about!

I was going to comment along the same lines. The rowing in particular

Agreed, Mick. I'd also like to add in the lad on the mountain bike, yesterday, who had a puncture and then robbed the French leader by sprinting through the trees and forcing his way to the front. Very sweet

Ever since I became a reasonably proficient swimmer I have taken a great interest in the event. Last night’s mens 800m front crawl was pretty amazing. Absolutely flat out for 16 x 50m lengths takes some strength an endurance. Hat’s off to the Irish lad who reminded me of Dara O’Shea. And there is more to come. Frighteningly freakish.

Cannot really believe what I have just seen with the French bloke winning both the 200m butterfly and breaststroke on the same night. That sort of thing is incredible.

There has been some amazing swimming performances, Marchand, the American girl winning the 1500 metres freestyle and the British men’s relay team winning the 4x200 freestyle relay. I am a regular swimmer and I am in awe of those incredible athletes.
