    Derby

    1st Half
If we play like this during the season then we are going to be very difficult to beat.
Totally different style from last season.
Gone has the tippy tappy crab tactics.
Replaced by getting the ball into the box at the first opportunity.
It’s only a friendly we know - but it’s difficult to see which team is in the Championship.
    Impressive 1st half.

Currently losing 3-2 on 77 mins.

Point of concern is the absence of Pines.

Can he be available on 9 August? I think not!

    2nd Half
    Where to start ?
We seem to have got a brand new team.
The movement and passing forward was excellent.
    Every player looked quality.
Including Philips who I have been critical of in the past - but he had a reyt game.

    Two concerns.
Fabio hurt his shoulder and had to come off - I hope this is sorted quickly because we have a proper footballer here.

Derby were able to break through the Barnsley defence from midfield with some slick passes - but then again, Derby are a Championship team and I don’t suspect any team currently in the 1st Division have the quality to do that.

This victory 4-3 bodes well for the season - especially if we get some new additions.

A few hiccups at the back but there was a lot to like about that display

We play well and on the face of it things are looking up - loads of comments on other outlets about how well we played - and yet there’s hardly a comment about it on here.

I’m beginning to think most posters on here are just using this message board as a means of slagging off the club and offloading the negativity from their lives.

I didn't realise the match was taking place Nudge, which obviously is partly my fault. But also I didn't know that it was going to be covered on TV. Normally I get emails from the club which inform me of club news and Ifollow games.
Wonder why I wasn't notified on this occasion. Surely a marketing own goal by the club. Also, as I understood it, due to the recent Sky takeover, Ifollow was now defunct except for viewing from overseas. So I was just starting to investigate other methods of watching matches when at home and overseas. I've got say that the clarity of information that's available is particularly poor. Is Ifollow still an option as it always was via the club then now for any of the Sky games. Somebody at the club needs to get their finger out and explain it.

Not including you in the previous comments Arb.
My point is this - if it had been a disaster against Derby then this message board would light up with comments from the usual suspects.
    There’s no balance.

I am with you on this Arba and also did not see the game and therefore cannot comment on the match or player performances, however I have just picked up a eleven minutes highlights video which I suspect came from the Derby end which showed me a cartload of defensive errors from both sides but as I said I did not watch the game, with 7 goals I suspect it was entertaining to say the least.

No I know you weren't Nudge, I didn't take it personally. But I am pointing out where the club and the efl could do much better. After all, subscriptions to these pay channels do help the club. I read a couple of years ago that the club got 90% of the £10 fee. Surprised me at the time that it was such a high proportion but there you go.

It's merely a pre season friendly and about bringing players up to match fitness/sharpness rather than results or performances or what division the opposition are in.

The real business starts a week today.
